Online applications are invited from unmarried male candidates for enrolment as Sailors for Senior Secondary Recruits in Medical Branch {SSR(Medical Assistant)}- 02/2024 Batch.
Eligibility Criteria for Sailors in Indian Navy Recruitment 2024
Online application are invited from Indian Unmarried male candidates for enrollment as Sailors in Medical Branch for SSR (Med Asst.) will be earmarked in a state wise manner.
Educational Qualification
A candidate have to pass 10+2 examination (Higher Secondary) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) from the Board of School Education recognized by Ministry of Education, Govt. Of India. Marks required minimum 60% in aggregate and minimum 40% in each subject.
Age
Date of birth of a candidate should be between 01 NOV 2003 to 30 Apr 2007.
Pay & Allowances for SSR Medical Assistant
During initial training period Rs.14600 per month will be admissible.
On successful completion of initial training, candidates will be placed in level 3 of the Defence Pay Matrix (Rs.21700 to Rs. 69100). In addition MSP@ Rs.5200/-per month plu0s DA (as applicable) will be paid.
Selection Process of SSR Medical Assistant
Selection process of SSR (Med Asst) 02/2024 batch will include two stages.
Stage 1 : Short listing based on marks obtained in 10+2 PCB. Shortlisting will be carried out state wise. Cut off marks may vary from state to state.
Stage 2: Includes three steps- PFT , Written Test and Recruitment Medical Examination.
a) Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
For physical fitness a candidate has to go through the following steps.
1.6 km run within 06 min 30 seconds time frame, Squats ( Uthak Baithak) – 20 times, Push ups – 15 times & Bent Knee Sit-ups 15 times.
Qualifying in physical fitness test is mandatory for selection to next stage.
b) Written Test
The question paper will be in English & Hindi language objective type. 100 questions will be there divided into four sections ( English, Science, Biology and General Awareness/ Reasoning Ability) of 25 marks each.
The standard of the question will be of 10+2 level syllabus is available on www.joinindiannavy.gov in
Duration of exam is one hour.
Candidate are required to passing all sections as well as in aggregate.
c) Recruitment Medical Examination
Recruitment Medical Examination will be carried out for candidates who qualify PFT.
Candidate qualifying Recruitment Medical Examination will be considered for Merit List.
Physical & Medical standards for SSR Medical Assistant
Minimum height required 157 cms. Minimum chest expansion of 5 costs.
The Candid must be in good physical and mental health, free from any disease or disability likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties both ashore and afloat under pace as well as war conditions.
Visual Standards – uncorrected vision – 6/12, 6/12, Corrected vision 6/6, 6/6 and colour perception CP pass.
Candidates are advised to get their errs cleaned for wax, and tartar removed from teeth prior to medical examination.
Training
Basic training will commmence on NOV 2024 at INS Chilka, Odisha followed by professional training.
The initial engagement is for 20 years after completion of training successfully.

Candidates avrive e-mail ID, valid mobile number, passport size scanned image and scanned educational marksheet & certificate required for online application.
Photograph
Passport size recent colour photograph ( taken not before Apr24) of size 10 KB to 50 KB.
Candidate will hold a black slate in front of his chest with his name and date of photograph taken, clearly written on it with white chalk in capital letters.
