WBPSC FOOD SI Advertisement No. – 04/2023
The Public Service Commission, West Bengal will hold the Competitive Examination for Recruitment to the post of Sub-Inspector in the Subordinate Food & Supplies Service, Grade-III, under Food & Supplies Department, Govt. of West Bengal,2022 on the results of which recruitment will be made to the posts of Sub-Inspector in the Subordinate Food & Supplies Service , Grade-III, under Food & Supplies Department, Govt. of West Bengal. The Recruitment will be made on the basis of Written Examination (MCQ type) followed by Personality Test to be conducted by the Public Service Commission, West Bengal.
Candidates short listed on the basis of marks obtained in the Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Question) will only be called for Personality Test. Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained in the Written Examination and Personality Test. All appointments shall initially be made on a temporary basis.

PAY LEVEL 6: Rs.22,700/- to 58,500/- as per ROPA-2019 -besides D.A., M.A. and H.R.A. admissible as per rules.

Qualifications for WBPSC FOOD SI:
As per official notification released by WBPSC for the recruirment of Food SI, a candidate must have the following qualifications.
1. Pass in Madhyamik Examination of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent.
2. Ability to read ,write and speak in Bengali/Nepali.
3. Knowledge of Bengali will be tested for candidates whose mother tongue is other than Bengali/Nepali at the time of Personality Test. Candidature of the candidates with average and/poor performance in the said knowledge of Bengali Test shall liable to be cancelled.
4. Must possess sound health and ability to undertake extensive tours in rural areas of West Bengal
N.B.: Ability to read ,write and speak in Bengali is not required for those candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali.
Age Limit for WBPSC FOOD SI:
As per official notification released by WBPSC for the recruirment of Food SI, age of a candidate must be between 18 to 40 years ( i.e. born not earlier than 2nd January,1983 and not later than 1st January,2005) as recorded only in the Madhyamik or equivalent certificate.

Applications can be submitted through online only. Other mode of submission of application will not be accepted.

Selection Process:
Selection process will be conducted in two steps
- Written Test (MCQ Type) – 100 Marks
- Personality Test – 20 Marks
Candidates short listed on the basis of marks obtained in the Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Question) will only be called for Personality Test. Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained in the Written Examination and Personality Test.
Tie Breaking Principles in selection process:
In case of same marks oibtained by two or more candidates, tie breaking process will be as follows
i)Preference will be given to the candidate securing higher marks in the written examination (OMR).
ii) In case of still a tie, preference will be given to the candidate higher in age.

Deduction of Marks:
There shall be negative marking for each wrong answer to multiple choice questions (MCQ Type) which will also be printed on the top of Question Booklet.
